The unit against violence in close relationships in Uddevalla municipality is looking for new employees for the Crisis Center's conversation reception.

About the operation

The unit against violence in close relationships is one of eight units within the department for children and youth. The unit consists of the Crisis Center, which is a conversation reception for victims of violence, children, young people, and adults, as well as violent adults. Furthermore, it includes Barnahus Fyrbodal, where Uddevalla is one of three branches alongside Trollhättan and Åmål, working in collaboration with the police, prosecutors, child and adolescent psychiatry, and social services when children are suspected of being victims of crime, Vingen, a sheltered accommodation for women and children who have experienced violence, and social workers for adult violence in close relationships. As one of our counselors at the Crisis Center has chosen to move on to another position within the department for children and youth, and as we are now facing the upcoming new social services legislation, we are expanding with another counselor. With this expansion, we aim to increase our accessibility and work more preventively with the target group of violence in close relationships.

The unit consists of a total of 10 employees and is led by a close-to-operation unit manager.

Job responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include having support conversations with the target group of victims of violence, adults, and children aged 4-18, as well as violent adults.

In addition, collaborate with other internal and external partners who may have other ongoing interventions in the same family, such as investigations of children and youth, social workers for adult violence in close relationships, youth reception, schools, etc.

Your responsibilities also include, together with colleagues in the unit, being able to provide training in the area of violence in close relationships, for example, in schools, within healthcare, or where knowledge-enhancing interventions are requested.

It also includes being visible in the community in various arenas to spread knowledge about violence in close relationships to prevent violence from occurring; this may also involve giving lectures at various locations in the municipality.

The Crisis Center's support phone is also included, where you will be available on certain days and times of the week according to a rotating schedule, where you take calls from those seeking help within our target group of violence in close relationships.

You will be one of 4.5 counselors at the Crisis Center.

Qualifications:

You should have a relevant university education such as a social worker or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is a requirement that you have knowledge of violence in close relationships and experience working with the target group. It is advantageous if you have other further education in the area of violence in close relationships. Experience working as a counselor is also advantageous.

The work requires that you are secure in yourself, have good self-awareness, and possess a large portion of humility. In addition, we want you to be unpretentious, able to work independently and professionally in collaboration, and have a clear child perspective in your work. You are self-driven, flexible, proactive, communicative, and have good collaboration skills. You should have a good service orientation and caring approach in your interactions. You should be able to express yourself well both orally and in writing.

For positions where a license/valid proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare on protected professional title is required, this must be submitted before employment.

Language assessment is conducted for certain professional groups before employment can be considered.
